The Big Switcheroo

A week ago from yesterday, our lives changed forever....it was that day that we received a call from Carrie, a social worker for LSS, informing us that there was a birthmom who had chosen us, and she was progressing "rather quickly".
After lots of prayer, discussion, prayer, questioning, prayer and finally hope - we were told that a baby girl was born at 2:13 am, Monday, January 17th. She weighed 4 lbs, 12 oz and was 18 1/2 inches long....and the birthmom wanted to meet us before moving forward.

So, on Tuesday, January 18th, we had the tremendous blessing and opportunity to drive to Milwaukee and meet with this brave birthmom and her baby girl. A few hours after we got there, she gave us the awesome privilege of being the forever family to her precious baby girl...and our hearts haven't been the same since.

Introducing, Lydia Joy Kathleen Roemer!

I'll share more details on our first meeting with Lydia, her birthmom and more in the next week or so, but for now suffice it to say that we are totally and completely in love!! But we won't be able to bring her home until February 17th...the most wonderful day of the entire year!! And we'd appreciate your continued prayers for a smooth adoption finalization, and transition into being parents. :)

Yay!

Wow, Liz!!! You will get your baby before I get mine (hopefully). :) Isn't God good? Praying for sweet Lydia Joy and that everything will continue to go smoothly with the adoption process.
